JANUS
Artist Statement & General Tear Sheet
artist statement
METHODOLOGY:
Janus' drawn paintings, sculptures and
installations are widely exhibited. Janus' visiting artist workshops,
symposiums and courses initiate creative discourses between artist and
community.
CONNECTION:
Janus often uses interactive art as a
method to create visual and conceptual art. Through this interaction
creative thinking and tactile response allows participants to yield opinions,
which evokes a tolerance for different experiences and ideas.
OUTCOME:
Associations of poetic images and concepts
describe sociological, environmental, communal and gender issues within the
artists sculptural installations. Psychological gestures rise and focus,
as time and space shift like ephemeral planes within the artists drawn
paintings.
